We thought we would break up the blog with a little behind-the-scenes adventures at our home base. We should have been on the road long ago, but life decided otherwise so we took those lemons and made lemonade.

We have kept busy for sure, but Bob's favorite thing to do these days is wandering around to the cruise-ins with our 1927 Model T hot rod that we actually thought about selling when we decided to hit the road. In the end, we kept the Q.T. because of all the joy it brings us.
But Bob found out recently that it brings more than joy...he found friendship, lots of adventures, free food, and a trophy. We had our caricature done at one of the events with River City Cruizers, artist credit: BrandonDrawsFaces.com
Although we both spend lots of time with the car and other car people Bob invests more time than I do. When I am not wandering around with Bob I am helping process veggies from our host-farm among other things. I use the word veggies loosely...as we wait for the rest of the crops to come in we have more than a few gallons of turnips eating up our time. Luckly, I like them and they are good for not only us but the donkeys who love to chow down on their new snacks.
We finally have plans to move forward with getting the transmission fixed on Burnadebt that will get us back on the road for some smaller trips. While our goal was to wander America, there is still lots to see in Virginia. Especially all the dead things that the barn kitties bring us...things they call gifts. (baby blue jay and a shrew)
Stay posted...next post will have photos from some of our June battlefield explorations. We have 12 Virginia locations left on our bucket list while we also appreciate surprise wanderings with our encouraging children. Wish us luck!
